Kate Melua was a student at the B.R.I.T School for the Performing Arts & Technology when she was discovered by producer Mike Batt, who signed her to his Dramatico Records label. Melua's debut album, 2003's Call Off the Search, became a sensation, and her skillful fusion of jazz and blues styles made the one of the biggest-selling female artists in the history of the British charts. The Katie Melua Collection features 14 of her most popular songs, including "The Closest Thing to Crazy" and "Nine Million Bicycles," as well as three new tunes, "Two Bare Feet," "Toy Collection," and "Somewhere in the Same Hotel."
