Add some competition to your conversations with Checkmate! Play chess against family and friends in Messages!
Simply start a conversation with someone, select the Checkmate! app and tap “New Match” to begin. You can play multiple matches with other people at the same time - even across all your devices!

PLEASE READ: To enable and play Checkmate please follow instructions at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206906. iOS 10 must fully be installed before sending or receiving a move. Enabling and disabling (installing/uninstalling) the game is done via the App Store for iMessage. We use iMessage for everything from keeping up with family news to sending stickers to our significant others. Sometimes, though, we just want to duke it out with knights and kings on the chessboard. What makes Checkmate so great—aside from its super-intuitive interface—is the way we can chat with (and smack-talk) as we play... or take as much time as we need to contemplate our next move.
