PhotoLetter is a private gallery (or photo portfolio), using your own server. The idea is to share in private, to the target user or group, images that are in your own server. You can share images, in private, to your family, friends and receive the feedback. This is also great app for commercial use. For example, if you are a professional/amateur photographer, you can use the app to show the images and give the client the opportunity to choose the photos or comments (using the mail feature inside the app) before paying for them. We can also use the app to build one portfolio (professional painter, photographer, artist, etc) to show the work to clients.
How to Use the App
If you are only using this app to view others peoples galleries:
•Download the app from App Store
•Change the URL address (Settings > Photoletter > URL Server)
•Start the app and login using the credentials previously received
If you want to setup your own galleries, to start sharing your files, please check the Setup your own galleries topic.
Setup your own galleries
First of all, your server must support (execute) PHP scripts pages. Everything will work without requiring any database.
If you want to setup your own galleries, you must download the necessary scripts (two files) and one documentation file.
Please login, using the demo credentials (username: demo | password: demo) and inside the app press the about button (bottom, right button). In the about information, please look at the “Download Link“and “Download Code”. You must use the “Download Code” to unlock the zip file from “Download Link“. Follow the documentation file to setup your server.
You can create:
•Unlimited different project galleries (each one has a unique login/password)
•Unlimited categories (in the app each tab is one category)
Each project is protect by one login system and can have unlimited categories. In the end, you only need to give the target user your personal server URL address and the credentials (one user and password). The user must setup the URL on the app and access the content using the credentials you have sent. Those credentials will be created on your own server.
