About David Frizzell
It's not easy to follow in the footsteps of your big brother, especially if he's country legend Lefty Frizzell. Nevertheless, Lefty's little brother David managed to carve out a substantial career in country music for himself. He began touring with his brother in the '50s, continuing into the next decade, but his career was cut short by an army stint in Vietnam. Subsequently, Frizzell had some minor country hits in the '70s, but things really took off for him in the '80s, when he scored two country Number Ones with "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma" and "I'm Gonna Hire A Wino (To Decorate Our Home)," in addition to a number of other Top 40 tunes.
