About Joshua Hyslop

Canadian folk-pop singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop learned guitar as a teen when he felt frustrated and displaced after moving to Scotland with his family. ∙ He painted houses and performed at local venues while recording his debut EP, 2011’s spare, folky Cold Wind, in Abbotsford, British Columbia. ∙ Hyslop’s 2012 debut LP, Where the Mountain Meets the Valley—partly inspired by a disastrous trip to Pakistan—featured the Canadian hit “What Have I Done?” ∙ Since 2012, he has staged hundreds of House Shows—intimate gigs performed in the homes of fans around Canada. ∙ “Fall,” the first single from his 2018 album, Echos, was streamed more than 1 million times. ∙ By early 2020, his first three albums had been streamed more than 200 million times worldwide.
