Slobberbone

About Slobberbone

Alternative country-rock unit Slobberbone comprised singer/guitarist Brent Best, lead guitarist Jess Barr, bassist Brian Lane, and drummer Tony Harper. Formed in Denton, Texas, in early 1992, Slobberbone self-released an LP titled Crow Pot Pie in 1995 that got them attention from labels. In 1997, they issued their sophomore effort, Barrel Chested. Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today followed three years later. The band's final album, the Don Smith-produced Slippage saw release in mid-2002, and they played their last show in Denton in 2004. Best, Barr, and Harper went on to form a group called the Drams. The retrospective Bees and Seas: The Best of Slobberbone was issued by New West Records in 2016.
