About Zinzzero

The Mexican five-member band Zinzzero, named after the Spanish word "sincero" (sincere), had the opportunity to sign up with Sony Discos after meeting Intenso's manager Fermín Limon. Based in Alamo, TX, the outfit debuted with the release of a self-titled album in 1998 covering Joan Sebastían's "Tatuajes" and Cornelio Reyna's "Tengo Miedo." Un Amor Prohibido followed in April 2000, featuring "¿Por Qué Te Vas?," written by Carlos Gutiérrez. Zinzzero's contemporary style based on traditional Mexican rhythms was delivered once again on 2001's Al Pensar en Ti and 2002's Para la Historia. ~ Drago Bonacich
