A sampler of articles from my first blog introduces readers to curiosities like celestial puppies and Fantasy Monopoly. Christian Character includes topics like success, blame, truth, being offended, risk, angels, and the United States government. From stringing beads to losing a beloved horse, these twelve short articles offer readers inspiration and food for thought.
The last seven years have been an eventful journey from equine professional to Christian author. In what I consider more of a blessing that a curse, that first blog with more than 600 posts was hacked by the Viagra folks. No one could save it so the whole thing was deep-sixed. It was a shock to see what happened to my status on search engine results when that many articles and links disappeared overnight. The blessing is I that was a really good horse pro at the time but not such a great writer. I'll never be a great writer. The only artistic ability I have - if any - relates to horses and making things simple.
God brings us along in His time. Only recently did I commit to the occupation of author. I've found it a real discipline to let work from years ago stand on its own, but it's necessary. If you're always looking back you'll miss what is either a great opportunity or brick wall directly in front of you. The first lesson I teach riders is to look forward to where you want to go so the horse has a fighting chance of reaching the destination of choice. God also expects us to move forward, leaving past mistakes and inadequacies behind.
