The spark between Miles and Williams is clear on the opening track, with the suave way both players lock into a new tempo inspiring mid-song applause from the crowd, and the soul-jazz chords Hancock drops into “All Blues” gives an early look into the many new styles he would offer up to Davis’ aesthetic.
