Album Review

Offering up a heady blend of smartly dressed indie pop and heartfelt urban folk that falls somewhere between Mumford & Sons, Fun., Imagine Dragons, the Lumineers, and Alt-J, Berklee College of Music-bred, Brooklyn-based quartet American Authors' eponymous, major-label debut EP serves as a fine introduction, with five engaging cuts that pair familiar themes with sneaky melodies. Highlights include the spirited single "Best Day of My Life," the rowdy and serpentine "Hit It," and the rousing closer "Home."
