Album Review

Although she started this collection with a stirring message track, vocalist Kofi's demure sound and subject material were predominantly in vintage lover's rock style, with her best songs reminiscent of sweeping love tunes by Marcia Griffiths or Sandra Cross. Kofi was inviting on "Didn't I" and "Looking Over Love" and vulnerable on "Curious" and "Me And Love." She ventured into novelty territory with "Reggae Starship," cleverly incorporating Star Trek's motto into the song's structure. The backdrops, arrangements and production adhered to the computerized/electronic mandate of the 1980s, but Kofi's delivery and singing were typical 1970s.
