Editors’ Notes

Dave Grohl’s pop sense has proven strong, drawing from the heavy but hummable roots of the Descendents and Hüsker Dü and taking them to modern rock heights. His strong sense of humour pushes aside the dark, mournful tones of grunge for the evergreen pop hooks of “Everlong”, “My Hero”, “Learn to Fly” and “The Pretender”. This retrospective includes the Tom Petty Americana of “Wheels” (Grohl played drums for Petty’s Heartbreakers).

Customer Reviews

For everyone

They can sing of love and anger, do grunge, metal and melody. If you don't like all their tracks you're still bound to love some. From the ashes of Nirvana who knew that the drummer could outshine his former friend and singer Cobain. A must have for anyone who does not own any of their albums. A must have for the rest of us just as an example of their genius, in whatever line up they have had on their band member turntable. 10/10

FOO FIGHTERS

The foo fighters are a awesome band! What I would give to meet them! Dave Growl was an awesome drummer for Nirvana and a great singer ang Guitarist for Foo Fighters! you should buy this album!

The best of Foo

Having recently been to my first Foo Fighters concert, this album has me jumping up and down and singing along with Dave every time I play it. I'd been a casual FF's fan for a good long while, but only from a radio standpoint. This album (and the concert, obviously) have inspired me to launch into collecting all of their work.
Thanks boys for such a great night in Auckland! Long live the Foo Fighters!!!!

When Foo Fighters released a debut album written and recorded entirely by leader Dave Grohl — at that point known only as the powerhouse drummer for Nirvana — in the summer of 1995, few would have guessed that the group would wind up as the one band to survive the '90s alt-rock explosion unscathed. Other bands burned brighter but they flamed out, breaking up after scoring a hit or two, while the Foos steadily racked up success after success, filling stadiums around the world while staying...
