Customer Reviews

A hidden gem

The official review above refers to the original UK/Ireland release of Planet Jedward, the post X Factor release, full of rap and punk-pop covers. This, the international version of Planet Jedward, takes the best four tracks from the UK/Irish version, but is mostly new, original material from their second album Victory.

Kicking off with power pop track Lipstick - which saw Jedward place a very respectable eighth at Eurovision 2011 - the album completely refutes the official review's claim that John and Edward "don't care much for pop music". There is so much good pop on this album! The Victory-era tracks especially have great production, letting the twins' individual voices shine through, working superbly with the bright, shiny Europop.

Highlights include the infectiously fun dance track WoW oh Wow, the celestial double entendre of Pop Rocket and the moody technopop of DISTortion.

Despite Jedward being considered kind of uncool in the UK, those who can get over any prejudices from the X Factor era (and that was way back in 2009!) will find this a fun, upbeat pop album that will make you smile and inspire you to get up and dance.
