Sundara Karma possess some key ingredients for indie-rock glory: an impassioned frontman in Oscar Lulu, lyrics that call out to the lonely and misunderstood, and choruses fit to loosen arena roofs from their rafters. It’s an impressive, adrenalising mix on “Loveblood”, “Vivienne” and the insanely catchy “She Said”. On the serpentine, funky “Flame”, meanwhile, their willingness to stretch guitar pop beyond its traditional forms bodes well for a bright future.
