Editors’ Notes

With a penchant for theatrical, bombastic indie anthems, Montreal’s Arcade Fire have amassed a broad international following without compromising their restless artistic vision. For the follow-up to 2010’s GRAMMY®-winning release The Suburbs, the band have enlisted the production skills of LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy. At more than seven minutes long, the title track’s hypnotic, futuristic disco groove demonstrates some sparkling chemistry, making a bold opening statement to Arcade Fire’s fourth studio endeavour.

Blast from the past!

Arcade Fire starting to sound like a poor mans ‘Klaxons’ with this new release

Mesmerising and funky

Arcade Fire return with a massive album of funky rock mixed together with reggae and new world beats. Works well at home on the dancefloor as well as complimenting a cold beverage or two outside in the nightime. You belong in the music so get there with Arcade Fire. Two thumbs up.

Reflektor - An ancient indie dance album

This is a fun and light-hearted album with a tinge of melancholy. It's a really different turn for the bands production with James Murphy on board but I like it. I think its an album you can really get into lyrically. And its awesome to see a top band making different records to expand their artistic palette. My favourite song is "Its Never Over (Hey Orpheus) a play in the classical play by Euripides. And "Afterlife" being a close second. I really like the play on antiquate and will weigh up buying this album because I know Volita's a big fan of Arcade fire. Great to see another band also unsung viral marketing to get their music out their, street stencils is a classic idea. Rock On

A combination of indie rock muscle and theatrical, unapologetic bombast turned Arcade Fire into indie royalty in the early 2000s. Originally comprised of Régine Chassagne, Richard Parry, Tim Kingsbury, and brothers William and Win Butler, the group formed during the summer of 2003, after Win spotted Chassagne singing jazz standards at a Montreal art exhibit. The grandson of famed swing-era bandleader Alvino Rey, Win was quickly charmed by Chassagne's performance, leading the two to launch a songwriting...
