Somebody that I used to Know

I agree with the Peter Gabriel sound. Beautiful, clear vocials, with a Talking Heads style lyrics. The thing that has caught my attention is the simple style of the whole musical arrangement yet a very raw and powerful song. RMJ

Great song. Instant hit.
Those that don't understand why this is so popular obviously have never had there heart broken in love.
Plus the video is awesome, Gotye and Kimbra are both talented artists in their own right.
The simmering tension and Kimbra's mocking backing vocals create a story not unsimilar to how Eminem paints a dark picture.
Not all songs have to be happy and bubbly.
This is an intimate look in to self loathing, narcissim and the human art of creating scape goats for our own dysfunctions.
