Album Review

This album and its follow-up in 1969 were the best collections of classic Dionne Warwick. There wasn't a single weak cut on this 1967 outing, and it was her first album to crack the Top 10, even though it didn't wind up going gold or platinum. But any LP with such gems as "Anyone Who Had a Heart," "Walk on By," and "Don't Make Me Over" couldn't be anything but great.

R&B is also part of her background, but she is not really a soul singer, either, at least not in the sense that Aretha Franklin is.
