The Experiment that wasn't

There's no denying that Dane Rumble certainly is talented. Being the frontman of the former Fast Crew, his voice certainly hasn't waned from those days and he has generously decided to lend his talents to us in his first solo album.

I feel however that singles released before it's inception (Always Be There, Don't Know What To Do, Cruel) provided false hope to the album being any good and certainly alluded me into pre-ordering The Experiment.

Intial criticism was rife and I feel that it was deserved as Experiment falls far short of what could have been. We've been(and are)bombarded with so many love/pop songs that I felt like declaring a love for my toaster or apologising to the lawn for mowing it rather than carry on listening.

The 'Cruel' part is that Rumble has the talent, but instead of experimenting more stayed on the straight and narrow with cookie cutter love songs that are guaranteed to gain him an audience. Nonetheless Mr Rumble, those of us who are waiting to see you venture beyond will 'Always Be There'.
