Australian country kingpin Lee Kernaghan settled into his sound on 1993’s Three Chain Road, the album that put the Victoria-born singer on the path to sustained stardom. Kernaghan’s uncommonly emotive, endlessly adaptable voice packs a punch from the opening track to the album’s closing chorus, whether he’s empathetically narrating a loser’s long, hard fall from grace on the sorrowful “Dust on My Boots” or bearing down on the country-rockin’ “Cobar Line” like a locomotive with a broken brake switch.
