By the time of her ironically titled Debut, Björk had already released three albums with The Sugarcubes and a solo LP, recorded when she was just 11 years old. But with her 1993 breakout album, she revealed what she's truly capable of, from oddball pop ("Human Behaviour") to club hits ("Big Time Sensuality") to classical minimalism ("The Anchor Song"). Still, all that versatility wouldn't mean a thing if it weren't for her one-of-a-kind voice—growling, purring, wailing, and cooing, drawing us deeper into her unique universe with every breath.
