Customer Reviews

Sorry Garageband. We’re breaking up.

After a long relationship with Garageband I think we need to break up. It’s not you it’s me! Actually that’s not true, it’s you.

Apple are VERY quick at dropping products/functions that their users have come to rely on. Although I could write a long list it’s GB we’re focusing on here which isn’t exempt or even close. Functions we came to rely on have simply disappeared.

Musicians, both pro and amateur have a job to do and it seems more and more we have to fight with Garageband to achieve what yesterday was simple. How do we access VST’s now? Yes it can be done but Sherlock Holmes would be put to the test to find where Apple hides them now. What’s the point of that I wonder? Apple [in all their products] move functions around for kicks until we have no idea where to find them any more. [Similar could be said of Logic]

This leaves the end user battling with stupid to access their quality instruments. In truth I simply can’t be bothered so GB has to go as more adaquate offerings are available without the hassle. We have a job to do Apple & it seems that you’re determined to fight us along the way or at least make our job as difficult as possible. This product is rubbish and I have no use nor tolerance for it anymore.

Frustrating install.

To be fair, I haven’t used it yet however I’m super frustrated. Word of warning… You will download the program, then BEFORE you can start to use it, you will be forced to download ‘essential loops’ and you can’t use the program until this is done! In my case this was an hour to download and two for the loops! 3 hours of waiting. Frustrating Apple. Why can’t I get in and use the program or open older songs first?
