Libby is the brand new app from OverDrive Labs. We're trying to simplify and bring joy to every aspect of digital borrowing and reading. If you love it, you can use it instead of the OverDrive app. If you don't love it yet, feel free to keep using the OverDrive app, but check in on Libby from time to time — we're adding features and squashing bugs every day.

Happy reading.

Keeps losing my place!

I’ve had such a bad experience with this app - it’s such a disappointment that I’ll have to go back to the overdrive app. When I pause my audiobooks, it keeps skipping to a different position upon playing again!! Often more than an hour ahead or behind my position. When it first happened I thought I must have accidentally skipped using the slider, but it repeatedly happened, even when just using the pause button on my headphones. So annoying to keep having to find my position!! I had to keep setting bookmarks as backup. I also just found it generally buggy - I had to play, pause multiple times to get it to finally play again, and many times the app just displayed a technical error and I had to close it and open again.
Also, I hate that when pausing and playing, there’s no option to auto skip back a few seconds - it starts immediately at the point it stopped, so if mid-word, you miss a bit.

Anyway, there’s so much wrong with this (which is a shame, because there is a lot of potential too) that is a total killer for me and I have to stick with the Overdrive app, which, while a bit stale, is at least stable and works!!!

After years of coping with Overdrive's many frustrations which seemed to get worse each update, slower and slower, not downloading, etc. After my last complaint because a book wouldn't download the Overdrive team actually suggested I try Libby. This was the best response I'd ever got from them.
Love this app. Its fast, downloads even large books instantly, and no waiting minutes for each page to open. Its so much easier to search the Library site now. Haven't been able to fault it. Except I would like to have the option to open in Shelf instead of going straight to Library please.
So thank you Overdrive team for building this new app. Looking forward to happily working my way through the Library now.

A frustratingly cumbersome app

Sadly this app is difficult to get back to a particular spot as it moves to far back or forward, even with the gentlest of movement. The 15sec buttons have to be pressed heaps to find the spot. So I've been constantly bookmarking my spot. But easy to forget and the nightmare of finding your last spot begins again.
The app also appears to be downloading as apposed to using the already downloaded title.
The search facility for books is slower than Overdrive too. Libby freezes for no reason also.

I'm giving up and going back to Overdrive which is already a pretty bad app, but it's still better than this ridiculously slow cumbersome Libby app.
