Neighbourly is the free and private neighbourhood app for New Zealand that creates an easy way for neighbours to talk and share online.
Members use Neighbourly to create free and private websites for their suburbs to exchange advice, find and make recommendations for local services, share events, sell or give away unwanted items, discuss local crime, locate lost pets and ultimately get to know one another. Join Neighbourly and help build a stronger, safer and friendlier place to call home.
Safe and Secure
Each member of Neighbourly must use their real name and verify their address so you can trust who you’re sharing information with. Neighbourly accounts are also password protected and encrypted. Information shared on Neighbourly will never show up in Google or other search engines - nor will it be shared with advertisers.

Nice App But Frustrating To Use
I have tended to use the Neighbourly Community more and more, and as such I have used this app more and more frequently (mostly on my iPhones 5S & 6 but also on my iPad Mini 2) - the app (currently version 5.9) is great EXCEPT it is incredibly difficult to use 'like', 'thank' and similar options in the posts (on iOS 9.x at least) which renders it not overly useful - you need to tap the screen repeatedly or press and hold for several seconds (again repeatedly) to try and activate these links - and even hen 50% of the time they won't activate! The text for these links is also too small for smartphones. Like other users have reported I have also experienced unexplained crashes and the occasional lock up. I continue to use the app and would give it 4 stars if the above issues were resolved! Otherwise they only frustration is a couple of key functions from the website are not replicated in the app. Look forward to hopefully seeing an enhanced version addressing these issues soon.
Unsure about privacy and glitchy
Glitches an awful lot which is slightly painful. If you log out and log back in then it doesn't seem to retain your settings. Unsure about the privacy as settings are limited as - just one setting for restricting who sees your name. You get a letter in the mail to validate your account but it can be automatically validated by text message - this worries me as what would stop a "bad neighbour" getting your name and address If you haven't ticked the one security option limiting your details? More work needs to be done around this before I feel comfortable using it. At the moment, it's got lots of potential but it doesn't feel "safe" enough.
When we get a message it shows 1 on the app itself n inbox as well. How ever even after I've read the message n closed the app n reopened it the 1 icon is still there. Meaning that my inbox still has that one unread message whereas it doesn't. Tried numerous times but it doesn't clear. Bit annoying. Otherwise app is fantastic :-)
