View the latest earthquake data from GeoNet and see all detected quakes in New Zealand over the last few days in a list where you can get various details on each quake, including magnitude, depth, and position on a map. You may also be alerted to the latest earthquakes over magnitude 4.0 within minutes of their occurrence.
New Zealand has over 15,000 earthquakes every year, most of which are small and often unnoticed. You may be surprised at how many there are.
As this app uses GeoNet's data feed it shows many of the smaller earthquakes that don't normally feature on their website.

What's New in Version 1.4
This update is a major re-write of the underlying code to bring it up to newer code standards.
This update includes:
- Support for 4 inch iPhones and iPod Touch (eg. iPhone 5)
- Pull to refresh
- Local caching of earthquake data, resulting in less data downloads, faster updates when changing settings, and the ability to view downloaded earthquakes even when out of internet connection range.
- Earthquakes up to 7 days ago are now displayed properly again
- Felt reports are shown again (when at least one person has reported it)
We have had to remove support for 1st and 2nd generation iPod Touches and iPhones (ie. iphone 2G and 3G) in order to add these features. However iPhones 3GS and above, iPod Touches 3rd gen and above, and all iPads are fully supported.
Since being updated the changed format has continual problems.
Takes long to open then list of quakes is all over the place. Have to go into settings and press OK then go back to get notifications into correct timing order. Have uninstalled and re-installed but still big problems. Don't the developers ever check their apps are working correctly. Would be 5 star if fixed.
Would be great to have an info screen with, for example, a table defining the effects of varying magnitudes of earthquakes, updates on patterns of quakes, etc.
Not showing any quakes
This is not showing any quakes at all. Go to settings then it is stuck there. Deleted it three times and reinstalled it but still doesn't work. Was working well until a week or so ago.
