Eerie and engaging puzzle game with a tint of horror

This is quite a jewel of a puzzle game - each puzzle increases in difficulty and elaborately set up. The artwork is amazingly detailed and the game combines a number of settings familiar to murder mysteries, ghost stories or adventures of bygone centuries.

Whilst the story chapters all take place in the late 19th century, I wish there were more background narrative that connected the segments or gave more information for those who haven't played the first game.

Overall the game could use more chapters or difficulty settings so it has a better replay value. The cinematography or direction has a tint of Lovecraftian horror shot in a manner or style very similar to Konami's Silent Hill series or Fatal Frame games. The horror element threw me off slightly, but it is worth every dollar.

The Room 2 - The Sequel

Outstanding! In a class by itself! I had hoped for a great game and I am not disappointed. My only regret is that there are only 6 chapters. Is it too much to hope for some programming carpentry where we get additional chapters added to this room?
I also hope that they have already started working on The Room 3.
One draw back is that some of the scenes are too dark and you must constantly fiddle with the lighting configuration.

More please.

Great game. Best graphics that I've ever seen in this type of game. It has a little bit of a challenge but I love how the clues point you in the right direction rather then giving you the answer straight away. The only negative thing about this game is that it was way short. It's longer then the first one but not by much. I spent just over nz$3 for this game, is it worth it? Not based on the length it's not. But I'm happy to support the devs by purchasing the game in the hope that they continue to create new ones.
