Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Tiled Maps lets you carry the world with you, even when you're out of network range. Build your own maps using the TMS standard, or download *zipped TMS* files from http://mapknitter.org and load them in to Tiled Maps before you hit the road.
Tiled Maps can show you your exact location on the map and even orient the map to which ever way you're facing, just tap the 'tracking' icon in the corner of the screen to cycle through the modes.
**New in version 2**
View and create GPX files. Take your tracks, routes and waypoints into the wilderness.
Record points of interest and export them as GPX.
Load GPX files through iTunes or from other apps (e.g. Mail) on your iOS device.
Transparent layers mean you can adjust the blend between overlapping maps. Great for applying shaded relief data to flat maps.
Resizes nicely on iPhone 5 screens
By far the easiest way to produce a map pack is using a 3rd party app called MapTiler* (http://www.maptiler.org). Load up a geo-referenced map and set it to Google Maps Compatible (TMS). Then zip up the output and load it on to your iOS device using iTunes and you're away laughing.
Follow @TiledMaps on twitter for ready-made map packs, or to request maps for your area.
What's New in Version 2.2
