“A view from a distance”

As a New Zealander we are horrified watching from afar the breathtaking degradation and polarisation of politics in the US. However I am grateful to the Washington Post for keeping a sense of sanity and reassurance not everyone has gone barking mad. Despite all the madness, alternative realities and strange points of view the Washington Post reminds us there there are millions of normal Americans as shocked as we are in New Zealand.
I am a great admirer of the US, it’s people and the ability of America to fix itself.
We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to past generations of US people saving the world from dictators, communism and strongmen.
I just hope the US doesn’t fall victim to the very condition it saved the rest of the world from a number of times over the twentieth century.

Washington Post - My daily fix

Really look forward to opening the new edition each day. Always find great stories and opinion pieces. Well presented and well balanced.

Too busy

The old app was simpler and easier to use. I can see them going for a more newspaper type look here. Unfortunately it’s too blurred. The photo backgrounds of the last app made it easier to navigate and was better for an app. This new one is trying to do too much and it doesn’t do it very well. Feels closer to CNN now and that app is not good either. It has potential, if they do an update to bring the flow back to the older (slower) scroll, otherwise I’ll be going back to CNN.
