About Harry Richman
Actor, singer, and nightclub entertainer Harry Richman had an uninhibited vocal style, often compared to Al Jolson. He made his Broadway debut in 1922, and appeared in GEORGE WHITE'S SCANDALS OF 1926, in which Richman introduced the song "The Birth Of the Blues," one of his biggest hits. Unlike many entertainers of the day, he often co-wrote his songs. Richman also appeared in some films of the '30s.
