Danish electro-pop singer Medina (born Andrea Valbak) made her solo album debut with 2007's Tæt På, which spawned three singles, yet none was a breakout hit, nor was the album itself. Her breakout came in late 2008, when "Kun for Mig" swiftly ascended the Danish singles chart. The biggest hit of the year in Denmark, "Kun for Mig" spent a remarkable 17 weeks in the Top Five, including six weeks at number one. Medina then released her second album, 2009's Velkommen til Medina, a Danish Top Ten hit that spawned a pair of smash hit singles. The following year she issued her international breakthrough album, Welcome to Medina. Another Danish album, For Altid, arrived in 2011, and her second international album, Forever, was released in 2012. ~ Jason Birchmeier
