About Nick Lachey

Singer and TV personality Nick Lachey became a heartthrob while fronting the boy band 98 Degrees in the late ’90s. He’s since established himself as an actor and reality TV fixture. • Lachey grew up in Cincinnati and studied sports medicine at Ohio’s Miami University before he was introduced to 98 Degrees founder Jeff Timmons, a fellow Ohioan who’d moved to Los Angeles to start a pop group. • In 1996, 98 Degrees—Timmons, Lachey, Nick’s younger brother Drew and friend Justin Jeffre—signed with Motown Records. The following year, the boy band released its eponymous debut album, which spawned the Top 20 pop hit “Invisible Man”. • Their 1998 sophomore LP, 98 Degrees and Rising, yielded two Top 5 hits: “Because of You” and “The Hardest Thing”. In 2000, the album was certified quadruple platinum. • In 2000, they featured alongside R&B singer Joe on Mariah Carey’s “Thank God I Found You”. The single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. • The group’s third album, 2000’s Revelation, features “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)”, which reached No. 2 on the Hot 100. • In 2003, with 98 Degrees on hiatus, Lachey starred in MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica alongside then-wife Jessica Simpson. That same year, he released his solo debut album, SoulO. • Lachey’s follow-up album, 2006’s What's Left of Me, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The title track became a Top 10 pop single. • Along with music, Lachey is known for hosting reality shows like NBC’s The Sing-Off, VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, Nickelodeon’s America's Most Musical Family and Netflix’s Love Is Blind.
