Originally founded as Volcano Playground in 2009, Toronto-based quartet Programm created shadowy electronic indie pop songs, heavily influenced by shoegaze, post-punk, and Krautrock. The group gigged extensively around the Toronto area, playing shows with Deafheaven, Titus Andronicus, and several local bands. Programm's song "Like the Sun" was included on Discovery Series, Vol. 1, a double 7" compilation released by Scion in 2014. The EP Like the Sun, produced by Alexandre Bonenfant, was released by the Hand in early 2015, and the band worked with Bonenfant on their debut album. A Torrid Marriage of Logic & Emotion appeared in 2016. ~ Paul Simpson
