About Ursprung Buam

One of the most popular volksmusik groups of the German-speaking world, Ursprung Buam hail from Zillertal, Tyrol, and ascended to mainstream popularity in 2001 after winning an Amadeus Award in the category of Gruppe Volkstümlicher Schlager. Founded in 1993, the trio is comprised of brothers Martin Brugger (vocals, fiddle) and Andreas Brugger (vocals, accordion), plus cousin Mannfred Höllwarth (vocals, bass, harp). In accordance with their alpine origins, they sing in an Austro-Bavarian dialect and embody age-old cultural traditions. Ursprung Buam made their album debut in 1998 with A Riesenstimmung aus den Zillertal, and have subsequently released an album or more annually, experiencing Top Ten success on the Austrian albums chart with regularity. Their best-of collection Unsere Schönsten Volkstümlichen Schlager arrived in 2008. ~ Jason Birchmeier
