Plot Summary

The adventure follows Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim Erebor with the help of Gandalf the Grey and 13 Dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the wild, through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins, Orcs and deadly Wargs, as well as a mysterious and sinister figure known only as the Necromancer. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the Goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever...Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of ingenuity and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities...A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

A great return to Middle Earth

This a great film and an epic story. Like the Book that it its based on , its a different entity to the Lord of the Rings, and in essence a prequel to the Classic Trilogy in a very minor sense so should be enjoyed as such. This is more of an adventure than an epic, the beginning might seem a bit lengthy, but in return you actually get character development and become more invested in the players. Was admittedly not a fan of the get out of jail free card at the end (damn it PJ I know exactly how this could have been adressed too!), but Bilbos encounter with an old villan more than makes up for it. Its a solid installment of the franchise.

The Hobbit is the greatest movie ever. The 2.7GB memory usage and $20 cost is nothing compared to the high-quality picture and AMAZING storyline. You would have to have $19.98 or less not to buy this :)

Love this movie! Best movie 2012 I belive.
