When a tragic accident ends the life of Mr. Rose, the genius behind Rose's Manure Company, the livelihood of its loyal fleet of salesmen threatens to go, as they say, into the toilet. Enter estranged daughter Rosemary, a high-class cosmetics salesgirl, who steps in to take control. She is not sure she has a nose for the family business, but she is determined to make foul into profit. Little does she know that a ruthless, slick-talking fertilizer rep is plotting a takeover. Whether she likes it or not, she must trust her top salesman, Patrick Fitzpatrick, to devise a plan to regain Rose's rightful position on top of the heap.
Smells like a flop
Billy Bob Thornton does a good job at playing his usual self, however the movie plot is very weak. The screenwriters managed to deliver what amounted to one joke repeatedly throughout the movie about manure. The trailer was excellent, and if you enjoyed that, then go no further. Save yourself for other much better films starring Bill Bob Thornton. The one dimensional plot was well matched with the one dimensional film set. I suspect this film suffered in the cutting room too, as continuity was odd to say the least. The ending was silly, and if you can't sit through the whole movie you won't miss a thing.
