Reseña de álbum

Perhaps one of the more misleading albums to appear in recent times is the 2004 release Inertia, credited to an artist named Montrose. Think it's a new release by guitar god Ronnie Montrose? No way. This release has absolutely nothing to do with the same Mr. Montrose who was responsible for igniting such all-time classic hard rock ditties as "Bad Motor Scooter," "Space Station #5," and "Rock Candy" (and introducing singer Sammy Hagar to the world); this is by a modern-day soul-rocker who shares the same last name. If you can overlook the "Montrose" name issue, what you get here is a not-too-shabby mixed bag of contemporary R&B, as evidenced by the album-opening funky blues-rocker, "Eureka," the vintage soul sounds of "Deep Within," the Lenny Kravitz-esque rocker "On My Mind," and the Seal-like "Surrender." But going solely with the name "Montrose" here when the artist in question is not the more renowned Montrose was certainly an ill-advised move, especially when you think of the number of fans of ol' Ronnie who might be tricked into thinking that Inertia is a new release by the classic rock six-string king.

And to his credit, though...
