Sony's 16 Most Requested Songs Encore! will disappoint Johnny Mathis fans looking for a copy of "Twelfth of Never" or "Chances Are," but there are enough Mathis classics here like "You Are Beautiful," "Tonight," "Friends in Love," and "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" to make it a worthwhile addition. Listeners who are looking for a more comprehensive collection should pick up either Columbia/Legacy's excellent Essential Johnny Mathis anthology or the label's Gold: A 50th Anniversary Celebration.
