Reseña de álbum

Many times a critic or fan has pointed out that a maddeningly inconsistent LP with a few great songs would have made a great EP instead of a filler-filled full-length. Possibly As Friends Rust realized this and made just such a great EP, with six dissimilar tracks that all brim with energy with attention paid to songcraft. The band plays loud and enthusiastically, applying hardcore ethos within the songwriting style of punk rock, at times reminiscent of Henry Rollins' mid-period solo work due to the diverse nature of the band's intelligent and well-played riff-heavy attack and the flexibility of vocalist Damien Moyal, who can sing and scream with equal dexterity, and with clever takes on social issues. "More Than Just Music, It's a Hairstyle" is a mix-tape keeper. It is unfortunate that A Young Trophy Band in the Parlance of Our Times is Moyal's swansong, as he decided to leave the group shortly before this disc's release, but if he had to quit, he couldn't have left on a higher note. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi

Goodlife Records released the band's debut EP, The Fists...
