About La Lupita

Mexican experimental band La Lupita got involved in the local scene in the early-'90s, combining rock and traditional Latin music, performing ironic and sarcastic lyrics, which resulted in one of the band's main characteristics: its sense of humor. La Lupita debuted in 1993 with an album called Pa' Servir A Usted. To make the following record, the group moved to London, having the opportunity to work along with Argentinean Fito Paez who participated playing keyboards on "Funkito" and singing on "El Funeral De Un Payaso." Que Bonito Es Casi Todo was released by BMG in 1994. A year later, La Lupita recorded Tres D, released in 1996, promoted with 3-D glasses and showing interesting artwork on its cover. After touring Latin America and the U.S., La Lupita issued Caramelo Macizo in 1998. ~ Drago Bonacich
