In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest memories of music is watching my mom Dinah play the Folk Life Festival in Seattle. She was a bluegrass singer and guitarist. Really amazing to watching growing up. Definitely my first inspiration in to music. Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 311, Grassroots BT, Movement In Still Life Elbow, The Seldom Seen Kid Elbow; Guy's voice is incredible, as is the entire mix of the album. Grassroots; Fave band to see live, I also wrote with Nick Hexum on my album Portrait of a Chameleon. BT; This album is a masterpiece in production and has a lush sonic landscape. It's about my mothers journey with alcoholism and my friends addiction to heroine.Producing this was a journey along with the writing. Still one of my favorites to just play and sing on the guitar.
