In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to Ustad Amjad Ali Khan perform on sarod at an all night concert in a park in New Delhi in 1979. In that moment I somehow knew that sarod was to be my instrument. It took four more years until I found an instrument and a teacher in London. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chinmaya Dunster, Yoga on Sacred Ground Chinmaya Dunster, Niladri Kumar, Yoga Lounge Chinmaya Dunster, Sandeep Srivastava, Green Ragas My collaborations with great Indian classical musicians: Bikram Singh (bansuri), Niladri Kumar (sitar), Sandeep Srivastava (vocals). All three are good examples of fusion, mixing Hindustani classical melodies with Western instrumentation and chords. Tell us why you chose this song. “All Is Worship” I created this song based on an anonymous tribute to the poet Rumi, as a tribute of love to Naveena, my partner of 25 years . I love the blend of Western song structure with Indian classical sarod melodies. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing with my Celtic Ragas Band for the Reception at Paul McCartneys' wedding in Ireland in 2002. Paul told me that he and Heather had been constantly listening my CD 'Celtic Ragas' and had chosen my music for their celebration. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I have a new fusion band 'Eurasia' and would like to bring it to the stage at festivals as soon as possible. It's a dance-able mix of Indian, Middle Eastern and gypsy flavored music. We currently have six tracks of an album almost finished.
