About Dimensión Latina

Venezuela’s premier band during the salsa boom of the '70s, Dimensión Latina released their thrilling debut ITRIUNFADORES! in 1973. Led by composer/arrangers Oscar D’León and César Monje (aka César Monge), the band took Caracas by storm, and continued to tour and record into the '90s. D’León left in 1976 to front his own band, Salsa Mayor. Shortly afterwards, the band pulled off a considerable coup when they lured Andy Montañez away from El Gran Combo. He made his recording debut on LOS GENERALES DE LA SALSA, sharing lead vocals with Wladimir Lozano, and Rodrigo Mendoza. The same trio of singers appeared on 780 KILOS DE SALSA. In November 1980, Oscar D’León reunited with Dimensión Latina for DOS COLOSOS EN CONCIERTO.
