El Matador

About El Matador

French rapper El Matador was one of Marseilles' best-known MCs in the 2000s. After a first hit single, "Génération Wesh Wesh," taken from the soundtrack to Taxi 4, he attained even more massive media exposure in 2007 with the video for A Armes Egales, which was illustrated with images from the movie 300, whose French soundtrack he lent a track to. His 2007 LP, Parti de Rien, featured both hit singles, making it one of 2007's most successful French rap albums. ~ Olivier Duboc
