An experimental, Krautrock-inspired trio out of Minneapolis, MN, Food Pyramid features multi-instrumentalists C. Farstak, C. Hontona, and M. Weather (aka Chris Farstad, Chris Hontos, and Michael Wethington, respectively). Drawing inspiration from everything from gamelan to film scores to Latin jazz to Ash Ra Tempel, the group released I, the first album of a planned trilogy, as a cassette on Moonglyph in 2010. II followed in December of 2010 and III eventually surfaced in October of 2012. Along with various collaborative releases and one-off cassette albums, the band offered up more official album-like recordings with 2012's Mango Sunrise and 2013's Ecstacy and Refinement. ~ Heather Phares
