About Honeymoon Killers
Among the most toxic and funnest slabs of filth to seep out of the Lower East Side in the '80s, the Honeymoon Killers drove rockabilly to its logical destination on the precipice of listenability. Finding a spiritual center somewhere between Hasil Adkins and Russ Meyer, the unit centered on founder Jerry Teel and counted among its many line-up changes Sally Barry, Lisa Wells, and Boss Hog stalwarts Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez. Balancing a sincere affection for both rock and roll traditionalism and eardrum-puncturing scuzz, the band released several full-lengths in the '80s and '90s before Teel focused on various other projects such as the Chrome Cranks and Knoxville Girls.
