About Lost Boy ?

New York's Lost Boy ? is the project of Long Island native Davey Jones, whose affinity for '90s indie and alt-rock found an enthusiastic audience thanks to releases like 2011's USA USA and 2015's Canned. Starting off as a bedroom recording project in the late 2000s, Jones worked fast and with cheap equipment, spending his formative musical years cranking out songs and self-releasing singles, cassettes, and CDs to increasing acclaim. His 2011 release USA USA garnered some good notices in the press and he began touring more, using a rotating collection of musicians. In 2012, Jones joined the band Baked as guitarist, a move that slowed down Lost Boy ?'s output a little. In 2014, the Wasted EP was released by the Exploding in Sound label. By this time Jones had made Lost Boy ? a real band, adding Ryan Foster on guitar, RJ Gordon on bass, and Matt Gaffney on drums. This lineup recorded the Canned LP which saw release in early 2015 via the PaperCup label. Jones followed up a year later with another solo Lost Boy ? effort, Goose Wazoo, this time working with Little Dickman Records. Recorded with Shea Stadium co-founder Adam Reich, 2018's Paranoid Fiction took influences from the gritty rock and punk scene histories of New York and Los Angeles. ~ Tim Sendra
