In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Bagpipe corp in a parade in Seattle. Twelve pipers and nine drumers... I was playing pipes. Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Captain Beyond, Captain Beyond Imrat Khan, Imrat Khan at the Playhouse Recorded. Live 19th June 1972 Miles Davis, Get Up With It Beautiful soul affirming and life changing albums to me. With eternal longevity. I can listen to these daily, for years and always discover new musical ideas and concepts, sounds and pleasure Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gruidés” I wrote this piece for a 35-piece experimental orchestra as a commission. Hesitant in my own abilities, I was reluctant to accept the offer... the orchestra leader told me to "be punk rock about it", as a challenge & a great motivation as well. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opportunities to work with incredible artists blessedly emerge from the universe. Creating with people like Scott Walker, Kali Malone, Kaiji Haino, Alvin Lucier, Gisèle Vienne, Peter Rehberg, and, of course my brother Greg Anderson. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Mental health, creative fire, and seeing and immersing in nature and sound with loved ones leave a lifetime of curiosity and possibility to anticipate the beauty of this existence.
