About The Soundcarriers

Drawing on such similar influences as Broadcast and Stereolab, to whom the Nottingham quartet are often compared, the Soundcarriers' oft-spooky sound is informed by German music of the early 70's, English folk, library music, Tropicalia, jazz, and lounge as well as the pop end of psychedelia. They compiled an impressive slate of albums beginning in the late 2000's that culminated in 2014's Entropicalia, a rare guitar-based record on the influential Ghost Box label. After a long break, during which many other bands tried their hand at a similar sound, the Soundcarriers came back with a more powerful take on their hazy shade of psych on 2022's Wilds.
