A Gem For Film Geeks

Outstanding for the caliber of guests. The excitable Freidkin and appreciative Talia Shire interviews in particular were outstanding. This dude know his films, shares a very similar taste with me (a extremely nice feature, indeed!) and his guests really seem to open up to him. That last point is quite amazing considering that the host is not very exciting, and doesn't always seem to ask the right follow up. His technical equipment sounds pretty low quality, the the production is bare bones, amature. On the plus side, his unobtrusive, non-showy style places the focus smack dab where it should be perhaps: on the interview subjects themselves, who really seem to enjoy having the floor to speak. Also, each show is themed around one movie, oftentimes with multiple guests. He scores some great sit downs too (Gordon Willis? Thelma Schoonmaker? Where else would you hear them?). Keep 'em coming! Could a Jaws, The Warriors, Dawn of the Dead or Taxi Driver show be far behind?

A Shame............

Not a bad podcast when you can actually understand what's being spoken. The audio is simply pathetic. Picture an interview show between two of Charlie Brown's teachers, and you get the idea. Or a conversation being recorded via two tin cans connected by a string.

I was finally forced to delete it from my iPod queue due to the frustration engendered by the audio issues. A shame.
