Intellectual guy, with some sound reasoning
This guy has a great story! he is a former priest that found his religion wanting, turned athiest and then found that wanting, albeit in different areas. All this leads him to be an agnostic, which he smartly presents as the only rational position a person with a questioning mind should take. He does an excellent job of explaining the problems with Religion and with Atheism. He shows how both groups are intellectually dishonest by denying evidence that contradicts their established dogma (yes, atheists have a certain dogma, and can be predictable, despite their claims to free thinking). His basic thesis boils down to the concept that as finite beings, it is impossible to know with certainty anything regarding the existence or non-existence of god. He uses quotes of the many great philosophers to reinforce his points, and speaks in a very clear and concise manner. The only complaint I have is that each episode is so short that you are left wanting more.
1/2 way there - Excellent podcast
When are the next 10 lectures coming out?!
Mr Vernon articulates his thoughts and beliefs by stating his spiritual journey. I find myself relating to it each time I listen to series. Now the REAL question-Where are the other ten?
