The Red Light Podcast is comprised of Ricki Sofer & Gina Savage !
Two ladies found themselves thrust together each week in the subterranean underbelly of the Greenwich Village Comedy Club discussing comedy (go figure), comedians, pop culture, men, sex, politics, love, life...and death.
A natural, flowing rapport developed; with each woman bringing her own unique background, perspective and experience to the subject matter.
It was mutually decided to take these
weekly conversations to a wider forum.
The result is The Red Light podcast which features all of the above topics and special guests (with special needs :) ).
Our Bios:
Ricki Sofer is a stand up comedian currently living in New York City. Ricki started her comedy career in Los Angeles and has performed at the Hollywood Improv, Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, Ha Ha club & The Ice House Comedy club. She has written her own column for Shavua Israeli- the most recognized Jewish mag in LA.
Originally from Israel, Ricki is a graduate of Emek Izrael Film School and served in the Israeli military police in a special unit which allowed her to wear her own pink clothing line instead of the dreadful army uniform. She speaks English with a pretty good American accent, which confuses her audience, until her world views make it clear that she's definitely not from here. She talks about life situations that most people never encounter and definitely don't want to. Comparing where she came from to living in La La Land made her realize how an American life makes for a really good joke.
Gina Savage is an actress, comic, producer & talent manager with a rich history in the entertainment business. Beginning in 1996 , she served as an assistant to Caroline Hirsch and Louis Faranda at Carolines. From there, she was recruited by Barry Katz to book and manage his highly regarded Boston Comedy Club. Later, Savage ventured into television production; working on reality shows "The Apprentice" and "The Contender". Today, Savage manages Al Martin's Broadway Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club. In her spare time (what spare time?) this native new yorker enjoys going to museums, walks in the park, strolls on the beach, Dalai Lama quotes and your undivided attention.

Comedian Mike Jacobs had very humble beginnings but always maintained his sense of humor. Ultimately, Mike would land on Wall Street - so naturally he would end up with a stand up comedy career!
Mike has appeared at the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival, Carolines Comedy Final Four, a laugh-off of NYC's top comedians, The Stand Up 360 Festival, is a favorite at Broadway Comedy Club and he begins his 3rd year touring with the legendary comedian Richard Lewis (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

She also appears at Broadway Comedy Club & Greenwich Village Comedy Club among others in NYC! Robyn just returned from a 6 city headlining tour in Australia and is getting ready to do a summer headlining tour around the country! You've seen her on TV shows such as: The Bethenny Show, Wendy Williams Show, Raising McCain, The Little Couple and Live At Gotham. Additionally, Robyn was a regular on this past season of The List on the WWE network and is also the writer for a new sketch comedy show on the WWE Network! She's also the star of the Web-series "Not The Sharpest Crayon" and "Dumbbelles"! Robyn's also taken the live streaming app Periscope by storm too and she's used her "social" media popularity to raise money for various charities! In this episode, Robyn discusses having to wear leg braces as a child, how she overcame the odds and her now blossoming comedy career!

Better than other shows
I recommend this podcast if you’re interested in comedy or being alive. Gina Savage is a skilled, confident interviewer- but it’s her laidback/down-to-earth ease that sets the tone for the show. She asks guests surprisingly candid questions about career, creative process and personal life. The show can have a real voyeur quality because it’s so honest, yet it never seems intrusive or exploitive. Savage will share honestly about her own life, but always keeps the focus on the guest--which is such a rare unselfish quality I’ve only ever seen a few hosts like Jon Stewart have. It’s funny, serious -always entertaining.
A great listen for comics and non-comics alike
Refreshingly relaxed, intimate, and funny conversation are what each episode of this podcast delivers. Gina Savage creates this atmosphere and is a great host. A good mix of inside baseball for comics and general human interest for non-comics...there's a lot to leave listeners enlightened and entertained.
